Fakro Side Hung Egress FWU window is designed for rooms where building codes require two methods of egress (escape). We recommend that you install Fakro side-hinged skylights for use as egress roof windows for your safety and so that the building department will give you approval. The egress window is available in two versions, right opening FWU-R or left opening FWU-L (presented in the picture above). FWU egress windows do not only provide extra escape way, but also are excellent means of providing extra light, and fresh air to the room. FWU size 24/46 window is officially recognized as egress window (see report), and can help safe lifes in case of emergency situations like fire.
The FWU thermally insulated escape window is side-hung and therefore side-opening. Once unlocked, the sash can be opened to 90°. A gas piston, fitted in the top part of the window, makes opening easier, holds the sash stable when opened, and prevents it slamming shut accidentally. The escape window is available in two versions, right opening FWU-R or left opening FWU-L . Note: View from the outside to determine whether a right or left opening window is required. The large size of the escape window enables safe and easy access to the roof. These windows are recommended for all heated rooms.
