Russwood’s SILA Select® Siberian Larch is a premium timber cladding renowned for its exceptional durability, refined appearance, and sustainable sourcing. Sourced from responsibly managed forests in Russia, this high-grade larch is meticulously regraded in-house to ensure only the finest boards are selected, free from sapwood, oversized knots, and other imperfections.

Key features
Aesthetic Appeal: Exhibits a clean, contemporary look with attractive figuring and minimal knots. The timber displays a warm palette ranging from light reddish-brown to golden hues, naturally weathering to a muted grey over time if left uncoated.

Durability: Classified as Class 3 under BS EN 350-2, SILA Select® offers high resistance to decay and rot, making it suitable for external cladding with a lifespan of 50–100 years when properly detailed.

Density and Stability: With a density of approximately 628 kg/m³ at 18% moisture content, the timber is robust and less prone to physical damage. Its tight growth rings and high proportion of latewood contribute to enhanced dimensional stability.

Sustainability: Certified by FSC® or PEFC, ensuring the timber is sourced from well-managed forests.

Finishes and Coatings
Surface Finishes: Available in planed, skimmed, wire-brushed, or Microtex® finishes to suit various aesthetic and performance requirements.

Coating Options: Can be factory-coated with SiOO:X for an accelerated weathered appearance or with Teknos paints in a range of colours. Fire retardant treatments are also available to meet specific building regulations.

Applications and Installation
SILA Select® Siberian Larch is highly versatile, suitable for various cladding applications, including rainscreen and board-on-board systems. Russwood provides a range of recommended fixings and battening systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
