TECU® Gold is an ideal solution for roof and facade cladding. TECU® Gold, offers more than an overpowering gloss. It develops a very elegant and distinctive matt brown-golden appearance after installation, reminding us of gold in a specific way. Depending on the light incidence on facade surfaces, a fascinating play of colors can be witnessed.
Facade solutions in TECU® Gold give buildings a discreet and valuable image. TECU® Gold is an alloy of copper and aluminum, and its original golden surface begins to mellow and becomes matt soon after installation. During further natural weathering, it gradually forms a striking warm golden surface with its unique characteristics.

Available Dimensions
TECU® Gold comes in a variety of widths and lengths:
Width: 670 mm or 1000 mm
Length: 2000 mm or 3000 mm

Production
TECU® Gold sheet and coil are produced in state-of-the-art production facilities according to EN 1652 and KME's strict guidelines. It is made out of CuAl5 copper-aluminum alloy, which is well-suited to welding, and soldering, and is malleable regardless of temperature and rolling direction. TECU® Gold surpasses the requirements of EN 1652 regarding tolerances and the most important material properties. This gives cladding areas an impressive appearance.
Benefits
-TECU® Gold offers outstanding resistance to mechanical abrasion, extremely high corrosion resistance, as well as exceptional durability, stability, and material rigidity.
-Due to its special material properties, TECU® Gold is also ideally suited for large-scale applications.
-It can be cold-formed well and is easy to solder.
-Hard soldering or brazing and TIG welding are not suitable.
-TECU® Gold is suitable for angle-seam and batten-roll techniques, for self-supporting panels, and due to its particular material properties is very well-suited to large format applications.
Storage and Transport
- Keep packing units dry during storage and transport.
- Keep pre-folded parts dry.
- Store parts on-site in an upright standing position.
- Do not lay any protective mats or covers directly on top of sheets and strips over a longer time, as this might create irreversible stains on the surface.
- Always store sheets and strips in the original packaging (dry and at room temperature).
- Do not install material from soaking wet packages. Please contact KME Germany GmbH & Co. KG.
- TECU® Gold sheets or strip surfaces are factory-refined and should be handled with special care. During transport, the surface of the sheets has to be protected against mechanical damage.

Museum of Historical Marksmanship
Duderstadt is a charming town located near Göttingen and is considered as one of the top ten half-timbered towns in Germany. The architectural firm, Gnaedinger Architekten, undertook the renovation of an abandoned half-timbered house beside the tower and transformed it into a museum for historical marksmanship. The renovated timber house, together with the extended museum, created a new ensemble right under the Westerturm. The museum itself is an impressive folded structure made of concrete, enveloped in a golden copper metal façade. The triangular panels of various sizes, which make up the façade, give it a unique and striking appearance that is sure to capture the attention of passersby.
The Dutch city of Weert has done a renovation of its Municipal Museum, spearheaded by designer Maurice Mentjens. Housed in the historic city hall since 1982, the museum now has a contemporary addition that complements its heritage. The project revitalized the building's monumental features while introducing a brand-new interior perfect for showcasing art.
The most eye-catching element is undoubtedly the museum's "third façade." Clad in a unique matte gold material, this extension reflects the modern era and creates a captivating contrast with traditional architecture. The cladding on the façade is 1 mm thick. Each sheet has been folded over at the sides, which gives the façade a pronounced sense of rigidity.
In addition, a 20 mm-thick hard-pressed insulation panel has been glued behind each Tecu®Gold panel. This increases the rigidity of the structure even more. The designer explains why he opted for Tecu®Gold, which has never been used in a project of this scale before in the Netherlands: ‘The material also represents immense cultural wealth and therefore serves as a beautiful reference to the priceless history that is preserved here for future generations.’
The project's unique location combines industrial areas, old office buildings, and residential streets, creating a diverse and contrasting neighborhood. Sustainability was a key focus. The project aimed to achieve modernization and expansion using low-tech, low-cost solutions and minimal resource consumption. Using Tecu®Gold panel, the design incorporates a gold-colored cladding material that contrasts with the existing building's silver and gray tones. More than just an additional floor, the new rooftop addition serves as a landmark of change. It features a box-shaped structure with expansive glass facades on the east and west sides, offering stunning views of the river and Düsseldorf's skyline.
