Based on the idea of a fishing rod and developed together with Marc Sadler thanks to in-depth research in the field of materials of the new generation, Twiggy is an idea of resilience and flexibility that has become an icon of our time. In 2015 Foscarini presented a version two times larger than the original: Twice as Twiggy, a lamp for large spaces, conserving the light image and flexibility of the first model. Today Twice as Twiggy appears in a very new outdoor version that takes its cue from the inimitable silhouette of the indoor model, though it has actually been totally redesigned for use in the open air. The diffuser has been revised to allow air to pass without resistance, in a special woven composite material. The light itself is also new, with an LED system running along the edge of the shade. The result is a weave of fibres, without visible technical components, that seems to magically float in the air, projecting a ring of light downward, at a distance of several meters from the base.
