The result of a close, fast and fluid collaboration between Studio Sucio and Alfred Coffee's owner and creator Josh Zad, Alfred Robertson packs a lot of punch into a small location on a street lined with boutiques.
The overall look is inspired by any number of gelaterias, patisseries, and other various similarly small urban ‘vendors of delight’ that hold a special place in our collective design memory.
All the expected Alfred elements are here - the bright fresh colors, the bold mixture of materials and patterns, the black and white tile base boards, ‘But First Coffee’ (trademarked by the brand) rendered in neon. The addition of a small but cleverly designed flower shop takes the place of the usual floral pattern wallpaper- a three dimensional expression of a typically 2D element. Alfred ingredients creates an unexpected and delightful relationship between the two programs that makes the new Alfred feel both familiar and fresh at the same time.
