The project was conceived with the concept of “Architecture that Embraces”. Clients really like to entertain, hold events at home, and have a large family, so it was important that the rooms were suitable for entertaining.
During the renovation, some mishaps in the MEP installations have occurred, which is normal for apartment renovations, especially as the property had never undergone renovations. It was a completely original apartment.
In the interior design, principles of Gestalt and Environmental Psychology were applied to create spaces that involved pregnanz, visual pleasantness and that positively modulated the emotions of users through colors, scales and shapes, and the principles of Salutogenic Design were also applied, which is health-oriented design, where some aspects have been meticulously planned to provide environmental comfort, indoor air quality and reduced visual and electromagnetic pollution. Everything to provide physical and emotional well-being for a family.
The concept to renovate the apartment focused on three main points: Receiving, Welcoming and Facilitating everyday life. In the first point, Receiving, we sought to provide closed social spaces to welcome friends and family, so we offered a large living room, with three different areas, and we also created a kitchen worthy of a “grandma's house”, as customers also like to chat while preparing dinner. We made the most of the natural lighting in the kitchen too, so it could be a nice place for the family to have breakfast with the kids during the week. In the second point, Welcoming, we sought to create an intimate area that was extremely comfortable, welcoming and safe for the three children and the couple. So in the rooms we apply techniques based on Environmental Psychology to provide this quality to these spaces. On the third point, to make the family's day-to-day life easier, we created certain solutions to enable a more comfortable routine, such as the children's bathroom which has two basins to make it easier for both parents and the kids, the laundry area which has specific support for the family pet, the kitchen itself which has a generous island to facilitate children's quick meals throughout the day.
