ARI 7 AUTOMOTIVE AND MOBILITY THEMATIC BUILDING WITH ADVANCED VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES AND POWER SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

ULAS ARCHITECTS as Architects

The project area is located in the southern part of ITU Ayazağa Campus, Maslak İstanbul. The land is located in an east-west direction and on the Lake Road. Internal roads and Lake road around the existing land boundaries have been reconstructed and a suitable environmental relation has been established for the building.

Building designed for two different programs and functions. Part 1 is Laboratory for advanced vehicle technologies. Part 2 is rentable office areas for ITU ARITEKNOKENT. The total construction area of ​​the building is 65.000 m2. The total area of ​​office, car park and other social usage areas of Teknokent is 57.000 m2 and 8000 m2 area is designed for mechatronics laboratory units.

Teknokent offices while 35.000 m2 is planned for leasable office areas, restaurants, cafeterias and meeting rooms units. The parking lot for 600 cars is designed in a fully enclosed space, allowing direct connection to offices. Also there are service areas, technical parts. Total Teknokent building part area is 57.000 m2.

Within the office part, there are 8 meeting / seminar rooms with large foyer, rentable shell and core system office space in different sizes from 75 m2 to 1000 m2 .Also flex space restaurant and cafeteria areas with all kinds of infrastructure, sport areas, dancing and activity rooms, administrative offices, security, entrance foyer, doctor and OHS specialist offices. 

Main pedestrian entry level of ARI7 building is 3rd floor. Also campus service car park area is near this entrance. There are restaurants and cafes on this main foyer floor.  The 170 m2 open courtyard which can be used from this foyer floor and offices are located and the natural environment. A direct connection to this floor, which has restaurant, cafeteria and meeting rooms, connects to 2000 m2 terrace. This terrace is designed on the southern facade, which is planned to be used for 12 months of the year. The terrace planned for various plant groups, small trees, shading elements and seating groups is planned as a recreation area - open to the use of the whole structure.

The office sections are 17 floors starting from the ground floor. Office area designed with the Shell and Core system and has all the electro-mechanical infrastructure ready for rental. Further this defined central server cooling system, kitchen areas, shading systems on facades, entry areas.

Mechatronics Laboratories have the entrances completely separated from the Teknokent Offices part. This area is accessed from the ground floor elevation. Enable for truck and bus entry. Ground and 1st floor sections have main laboratories. Power Train Test Chamber, Electric Motor Test Chamber, Motor Test Chamber, Climatic Battery Test Chamber, Diesel Engines test room, Rail systems test room are the main laboratories. These areas are opened with common control rooms Hangar shaped and 9 meters high working area with various loads and sizes of access provided by the crane provides test rooms. There is also a hangar area of ​​approximately 400 m2 for preliminary studies. Another function on the ground floor is the work area of ​​the ABB and Staubli robotics, which are located in the Mechatronics Laboratories section and have an area of ​​200m2 and a height of 9 meters.

Located on the first floor of Mechatronics Laboratories; there are reserved laboratory are for technical devices of power electronics, technical rooms of all laboratories, technician working offices and rest areas. This floor of Mechatronics Laboratory is related to the ground floor, main laboratory area. Technical office have a façade which the direct connection from the workshop and the activities at the laboratory floor.

The second floor of the Mechatronics Laboratory has offices, study areas, meeting and seminar rooms, reserve offices and reserve laboratory areas. Servo motors laboratory, and Laser cutting workshop, Mechanical testing laboratory, PCB fabrication, 3D printer laboratory and reserve laboratory areas are planned on this floor.

Within the scope of the project, 920 meters long ring roads have been projected. Infrastructure works related to bicycle roads and campus have been made. Lighting, marking, landscaping and afforestation works were planned in this context.
