In designing Farmazon's Istanbul Headquarters, our primary goal was to create a workspace that balances modern elegance with functional minimalism. As a technology-driven company, Farmazon required an environment that is both dynamic and sophisticated. 'Saye' is an international art community that embodies inspiration, expression through art and collective creation. It settled in this modest building in Tarlabaşı in order to carry out its works, which have been continuing in various places both on the sea and the land. Ufuk Pehlivan The building is located in İstanbul, Beyoğlu, Tarlabaşı district, Bülbül neighborhood, at the intersection of Küçük Duvarcı Street and Mısır Buğdayı Street. The building, which was built in the begining of 1900’s with a masonry system, is accessed from three separate levels. The project was designed for the redevelopment of Kar Apartment Block due to the risk of an anticipated major earthquake in Istanbul. The net occupied areas of units were preserved whereas the vertical circulation was rearranged in compliance with the regulations in effect. LikeStore is a genuine accessory shop, which has stores in old textures of İstanbul such as Karaköy and Balat. We designed the first shopping mall branch of this concept store in Istanbul Emaar Shopping Mall. The aim of the project was to blend the texture and concept in the existing branches with current details and create an original concept. The first branch of Kekik Restaurant, a boutique establishment neighboring the opera on one of Istanbul's busiest streets, Bahariye Caddesi, was implemented in Istanbul Emaar Square Mall. The project aimed to give the establishment a new identity and create a functional space that could accommodate the mall's heavy foot traffic. The restaurant's extensive menu required simultaneous presentation of fast food and à la carte options. This challenge, which demanded different concepts and details, was addressed by utilizing the columns on the façade.
