NS House is a contemporary reading of the Istanbul house. Set within a classical urban villa in Etiler, the project reworks the building from the inside, reorganising its plan for the life of a contemporary family while giving it the warmth, ornament and sense of craft of a traditional Istanbul home. A trophy usually marks the end of a contest. At COPPA, it became the beginning of a spatial narrative. Designed and realized by Ali Konya in Etiler, Istanbul, in 2008, COPPA Restaurant & Bar grew from a trophy concept proposed by clients connected to club culture. It also brought together Konya’s longstanding fascination with horses: their physical presence, character, strength, and grace. The experience begins in a high-ceilinged lobby. It settled in this modest building in Tarlabaşı in order to carry out its works, which have been continuing in various places both on the sea and the land.
