BU House

BU House unfolds as a contemporary sanctuary for a business person whose lifestyle demands both comfort and refinement. The interior architecture is conceived as a layered narrative, beginning in the social heart of the residence — the living and dining areas — where space is choreographed around the client’s extensive art collection. With works by celebrated Turkish artists such as Yüksel Arslan, Komet and Fikret Mualla, the placement of canvases and sculptures informed the architectural composition, transforming the interiors into a curated environment where art and daily life coexist seamlessly.

The entry hall establishes the first impression with its quiet grandeur: walnut wall paneling, textured surfaces, and carefully calibrated lighting create a sense of arrival that is both understated and distinguished. It introduces the balance of intimacy and elegance that flows throughout BU House.

In the private quarters, the bedroom emerges as a serene retreat. Muted green textiles and natural finishes shape a calm atmosphere, echoing the client’s desire for warmth and tranquility after long working hours. Adjacent to it, a finely detailed dressing room was designed to accommodate an extensive wardrobe, while a bespoke bar offers a discreet corner for his appreciation of cigars and whisky.

The material palette is central to the design vision. Moving away from the cool greys of the client’s previous home, the interiors embrace the warmth of walnut, the softness of green tones, and the clarity of sand-colored neutrals. This palette brings cohesion and depth, highlighting the dialogue between texture, light, and space.

More than a residence, BU House is a study in interior architecture — a spatial narrative of personal taste and contemporary elegance, where art, materiality, and tailored details converge into a timeless atmosphere.
