Jean WALTER is one of the rare architects to promote in France the concept of garden cities, which he discovers in England. Buildings of the porte de la muette , called ‘’buildings Walter’’ was realized from 1928 till 1931 thanks to the support of the architects of the Administration. Occupying a vast quadrangle isolated between the Bois de boulogne, the Parc de la muette and the Walk of Ranelagh, these buildings train a set of a neo-classic purified style characteristic of period "Art deco".
Compound of big luxury houses, handled in a most contemporary way for its period, this group was built in the style of ' garden cities ', sheltering real gardens between its buildingsand roofs terraces originally dressed in gravel.
Our study aimed at establishing a diagnosis of facades allowing to propose the adequate works of their restoration and the appropriate modus operandi of their cleaning today.
