Cabin Søndre Hersjøen, drawn by MMW, is inspired by a traditional half‐timbered cabin with gable roof.
The cabin consists of one plan and an aterlier loft. One half of the floor plan has heigh ceiling, which opens up the main living spaces and creates an airy feeling to the cabin. The windows, in the living room, facing the lake leds the sunlight into the cabin. Furthermore the windows connect the indoor with the beautiful urroundings and minimize the barrier between inside and outside.
The cabin is made of natural materials such as wood, stone and slate and is designed, so it's easy to build an addition, if there's need for more space.
