The house, located in the characteristic historic center of Polignano, occupies the second floor of a period building, made of stone and with barrel vaults. The renovation project was aimed at recovering the two floors of this ancient residence from the end of the 19th century, abandoned for years and in a terrible state of conservation, allowing it to be refurbished, respecting the traditional local architecture.

The building has an elongated shape with non-orthogonal walls which cause some irregularities in the individual rooms. The very thick load-bearing perimeter walls impose almost obligatory choices in the distribution of the rooms. Alongside the main apartment, on the same floor, is a small annex connected to it via a passageway with a double door which opens onto the load-bearing wall but, at the same time, has an independent entrance and a terrace for exclusive use. with mini-pool and open air dining area. The vaults and load-bearing walls of the house are made of tuff blocks restored and left exposed, highlighting the techniques and construction characteristics typical of the Mediterranean house, in the simplicity of its unmistakable style.

The lower bands of the walls, however, are plastered in white lime, a completely natural material with high absorbent and breathable power. In some rooms of the house it was possible to preserve the original square or hexagonal cement tiles floors. In other environments, however, rectangular porcelain stoneware tiles were used in the same shades as the pre-existing cement tiles and laid following a pattern similar to the others. The rooms are furnished with a few essential elements, often handcrafted, favoring the use of natural and raw materials in the choice. The internal doors of the house, hinged and sliding, as well as the frames and shutters that shield the glass of the windows and French windows, are all handcrafted in white painted wood, taking up the model of the originals.
