Continuum

Continuum

CAA architects as Architects

CAA team has recently completed “Continuum”, an exhibition space designed for contemporary jewelry exhibition “Plum Tree Scent”by Teng Fei. CAA has reconstructed a new platform within Ginkgo Art Center, creating various contrasts between art piece and space which speaks to the audience.

Teng Fei's jewellery work for the exhibition represents a collection of related, but seemingly unrelated works that she had completed over her career.

Before entering Continuum, visitors encounter a wall with a serene opening into the main space, like that of a secret garden. Once inside, the centre piece of the exhibition has a strong presence at the other end, creating intrigue and anticipation whilst visitors navigate around the layers of historical artefacts that are presented to them.

We saw each of the 5 selection of jewellery as being a layer in Teng Fei's history that are all related, and had influenced each other. We carefully analysed, connected and positioned each layer within the exhibition space, with each being represented through their own distinctive display; cohesion and differences combined.
