CON/VERT is a concept for circulair student housing. We see high demand for affordable housing for students. Besides of that we see places in the city in transition, where temporary spaces for temporary living can be found. These two elements form the basis for the CON/VERT concept.
CON/VERT is a design that reuses a shipping container. The container is lifted upright and a prefab interior is inserted, after which it serves as a smart and comfortable student housing. For the interior we use resources from urban mining, which we combine with innovative all-electric installations.
CON/VERT is a prototype at Plug-In-City, where we can intensively test and showcase at The Circular Building Living Lab. We test the materials against the elements of nature, we test the performance of installations, we test with students (users) how the usability can be improved and all that input we collect to improve the design. The prototype has been made in collaboration with Bygg Architecture, Redesign Factory BV and Studio Raphael Coutin.
