This private interior project was designed within a modern apartment building characterized by a curved, cornerless geometry. The absence of traditional orthogonal walls became the primary design driver, shaping both the spatial organization and the formal language of the interior. The project explores lightness of form, fluid transitions, and a restrained material palette to create a timeless and welcoming living environment.

The apartment occupies 66 square meters and is divided into two functional zones: an open living area with kitchen and dining functions, and a private bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The original layout was completely cleared, allowing the interior to be reorganized from the ground up in response to the building’s elliptical perimeter and the client’s functional requirements.

The living space was conceived as an open, continuous interior without conventional doors. Transitions between zones are defined through spatial sequencing, built-in elements, and soft partitions rather than rigid boundaries. This approach enhances the perception of openness while maintaining clear functional organization.

Material selection plays a key role in establishing the project’s atmosphere. High-quality finishes were chosen to ensure durability and long-term aesthetic consistency. Curved MDF furniture elements were used extensively to follow the geometry of the building and to conceal structural components, ventilation ducts, and storage. In the kitchen, sliding systems fully integrate household appliances, maintaining a clean and uninterrupted visual composition.

The separation between day and night zones is achieved through a continuous wall of built-in wardrobes, which also incorporates concealed sliding glass doors. Curtains mounted on hidden tracks provide additional visual separation while introducing softness and flexibility. A combination of stone, fabrics, and furniture panels creates a tactile, textile-like quality throughout the interior.

Lighting was treated as a fundamental architectural element. A system of concealed tracks and discreet light points allows for subtle modulation of atmosphere, emphasizing function, ergonomics, and spatial depth. Carefully calibrated lighting scenarios support both everyday use and changes in mood, reinforcing the calm and balanced character of the interior.

All furniture elements, with the exception of selected seating, were custom-designed and manufactured specifically for this project.

The project was designed as a comfortable weekend apartment in Krakow, combining contemporary design with warmth and restraint. Through its fluid geometry, soft material language, and integrated technical solutions, the interior achieves a sense of continuity, comfort, and spatial harmony.
