Papillon Paediatrics are Consulting suites for Paediatrics development doctors and allied health specialists. Our brief was to create a space which was animated and spatially interesting but inclusive and comforting for children with special needs. We wanted to create a sense of drama of the awkward geometry of the space and maximise the light into the consulting rooms and make the most of a limited amount of space. There is a sense of playfulness and a deep consideration for an expansion of space and time in this playful interior fit out, which feels a little like a trip down the rabbit hole. With carefully considered use of recycled composites of marmoleum for flooring and the strong use of colour we created a simple but geometrically graphic space.
