Elisa is a project based on the restoration and enhancement of an existing space. The renovation had to lead to an easy-to-live space. Simplicity and functionality were key premises. But also especially to add light to every corner, to have an open kitchen, and to improve the house efficiency.
The flat itself had beautiful qualities, such as tiled walls, glass doors, moldings in all corners… But the distribution did not suit the needs of this contemporary family. The key challenge was to find the perfect balance between maintaining the original qualities of the space, whilst modernizing the original distribution into something more current.
To achieve this, we chose warm, discreet, sober and atemporal materials, which are the studio’s stamps, and recovered some of the existing materials: jasmin microcement, plaster, oak, pine, recovered tiles.
