Located in the Jardim Europa neighborhood in São Paulo, the semi-detached house from the 1950s underwent a renovation to be modernized while carefully preserving its original essence. The idea was to have a kitchen in the middle of the garden with a mix of coastal and Japanese vibes, gathering family experiences. The demolition of the outbuilding gave rise to a raised annex, entirely made of wood and glass, which ended up becoming the heart of the house: cooking, working, and living in a light and transparent environment, surrounded by diverse tropical vegetation.

This intervention optimized circulation, incorporated more natural light and ventilation, resulting in a harmonious dialogue between internal and external spaces. The old garage was transformed into an office, connecting with the living room, TV room, and terrace, all opening onto the internal courtyard, where garden benches give the feeling of a square or park with the microclimate of a place outside the city. Upstairs, there is a suite with a walk-in closet, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and an uncovered terrace, completing the spatial reconfiguration. Thus, the 1950s residence not only preserves its original characteristics but also reinvents itself, establishing a balanced connection between history and modernity.

Key Strength of the Project: 
The kitchen in the new elevated wooden pavilion, composed of four structural modules, incorporates functionality, 
while the surrounding landscaping, marked by a diversity of tropical species, uniquely integrates the residence with 
its surroundings.
