The client was a small family of 2 children and the couple. We had to design the apartment keeping in mind that despite of being small in size it catered to all the basic needs of every member. It was to have a modern, happy and bubbly feel when you enter.
What were the key challenges?
We had to accommodate all the needs of the members in a 1000 sq ft covered area. We worked upon converting the servant/ help room into a study for the children which also provided them additional storage space. Despite of being small and having tiny rooms, we were able to give them rooms which looked bright and had some element of interest which became the highlight of each room.
What materials did you choose and why?
We worked with thermo pine wood for cladding one of walls where we wanted to give It a warm and welcoming feel.
Master bedroom wall behind bed was cladded with MDF boards which were laser cut and then painted a dark grey colour to create accent behind bed.
Children’s room was cladded with a wallpaper behind bed which was customised like a world map with planes and hot air balloons.
Living room highlight was a bright green tv unit which was placed against a dark blue texture painted wall.
Their most of the furniture was refurbished and given a new look.
