What was the brief?
In the concept phase we sought an aesthetic balance of the natural with a timeless style of neutral colors, emphasizing multiple points of visual interest. The house benefits from a beautiful perspective towards the lake, so the proximity to nature was one of the premises from which the shaping of the concept began. Natural light plays an important role in the arrangement, penetrating generously into the space thanks to the floor to ceiling, tall windows. Upon entering, you are greeted by the presence of a decorative panel made of perforated sheet that has the role of uniting all levels of the house. This "perforated wall" is highlighted by the zenithal light that enters the space through the skylight in the attic.
What were the key challenges?
One of the biggest challenges was to keep the accuracy of the project thought 3 years ago, to make sure that every detail is implemented as it was designed. We say this because we have encountered many reluctances from the builders in terms of implementation. Another challenge was to maintain the enthusiasm of the clients throughout the evolution of the project implementation so that at the end of it they would be left with a pleasant experience on the arrangement of their house.
What materials did you choose and why?
Wood was the star material in this interior design project and it was used in wall panels (double bedroom and living room), floors (all but bathrooms), ceiling (kitchen) and custom furniture, in each of the rooms there is at least 1 object that was made of a wood essence.
Other materials used were - metal represented by the perforated metal mesh that marks the gap created for the skylight in the attic that connects the floors together, beautifully highlighting this upward perspective. The mirrors were inserted in the design for their scenic effect, the microcement was chosen for the bathroom floors and the wallpaper offers a different atmosphere in each room, while maintaining the stylistic unity of the concept.
