A villa with high ceilings and enormous windows is a triumph of light and reflection. Inside, minimalist geometry is well studied to filter the light of the sun which complements it's minimalism. In the province of Brescia, Italy, this new modern villa is a warm, welcoming space . The architects, Paolo Bussi and Elisabetta Piotti, of bp Laboratorio di Architettura, in Soprazocco, Italy, worked hard to let the light create the space, working through every detail and every corner making sure that the home's natural geometry would be celebrated. The laminate wood floors by BerryAlocElegance, lends a continuity to the home while the stairs, covered in black wax-finished steel are the only slight interruption. At the foot of the stairs we find the open space living area in tones of gray, white and brown. The double faced fireplace both warms and divides the space. On one side the living room stays open with it's comfortable and subtle couch "cloud" by Lema and it's low credenza "disegno" by Sangiacomo. On the other side of the fireplace lies the dining room with it's dining table "shade" by Lema and it's custom made high-backed chairs. In this open, minimal room it's the sunlight that creates designs. Shadows and light highlight the custom made hanging light fixture above the table. Through the frameless wall cutout, the kitchen, created by Meson's, is revealed. This is virtually a hidden kitchen: the countertop in white quartz holds both the sink as well as the induction cooking plane while everything else remains hidden behind tall lacquered cabinets, recalling the clean lines and innovation of the rest of the house. Here again the reigning aspect of the room is the sunlight which projects it's designs on the clean surfaces of the whole room. In the master bath, even the bathroom is filled with natural light with the help of an enormous window. Completely paneled in Kerlite, in a tortoiseshell color that renders the space both intimate and poetic. Only the hydromassage tub by Jacuzzi brings bright white to the space. To enter here is to dream; to bask in the lightness of the outdoors. The same view is alive in the simple, romantic bedroom. The Cideri containers by Sangiacomo are paired with large trays at the bedside and the master bed gives the space a romantic softness. Across from the bed the land and sky outside the picture window create a living painting making this room the perfect ending to a house that is a constant, changing work of art.
