Loft Renovation

An urban chic home in a patrimonial building in Old Montreal. Built in 1886, as a commercial warehouse, it has survived several fires until 1980, when it was finally converted into residential lofts.

In early 2016, the loft was completely renovated turning it into a modern, functional living space.

Overlooking the Saint Laurence river, the 15 feet floor to ceiling windows allow the natural light to flow throughout the home. The suspended Vibia-Wireflow chandeliers create an exquisite focal point while allowing the sunlight to penetrate through to the mezzanine level, thanks to it’s three dimensional geometries.

The marriage of the exposed structural beams, air ducts, industrial concrete walls, and the original brick contribute a key component to the design composition typical of the area.

High-gloss white cabinetries are featured in the modern open concept kitchen, along with heated concrete floors, state of the art appliances and a walk in wine cellar, the marble counter top extends to form a seated bar for casual eating.

The different shades of the walnut floors add warmth to the environment without distracting the modern urban character.

The beautiful combination of wood and concrete seamlessly flow throughout the bathrooms, setting the design in touch with its surroundings.

Emphasizing on the design philosophy; to blend four basic elements, contrast, proportion, color and balance, the furniture has been carefully selected, creating a dialogue between the Baroque and the Contemporary.
