The Ministry of Foreign Affaire Club is a government space for events, used by the Ministry, as a location for work meetings, official breakfasts and cultural events. Functional adaptations and infrastructural enhancements were needed to suit it to these purposes. Specifically, these included: a new security system, the expansion of the restaurant and constructing a new building for the auditorium. The project features high environmental sustainability and architectural quality.
The new functional spaces will include: a large room for group activities, conference rooms and a volleyball/basketball court, a fitness machine room, changing rooms, entrance and common spaces, utility and warehouse spaces, a hall for recreational activities.
The project entails building a large “shell”, with the underside facing the street, and a large glazed wall facing north towards the Tiber River, from which it gets air and light. Here, there is a fitness room with gym machines, raised on an intermediary mezzanine. Users of the fitness room can enjoy a view of the river or overlook the interior space for the conference hall, which seats approximately 400 people, or an athletic field.
