Modern Houseboat

Welcome Beyond as Association

Introduction The Modern Houseboat is a unique opportunity to discover the adventure of life on water while unwinding and taking in the natural surroundings of the city of Berlin.

Located on Lake Rummelsburg, a small bay in the river Spree, there is hardly a more unique place to stay in Berlin: the entire front facing the bay opens up through huge windows with views of the city and the landmark TV tower on the horizon. You feel completely withdrawn from the bustle of the city with only a few ducks and Ludwig, the swan occasionally coming by for breakfast, yet it only takes 15 minutes to the city centre.

Property Details The boat features a minimal interior not to distract the eye from the amazing view through the floor-to-ceiling windows covering the entire front of the boat. Much of the furniture including the sofas and the beds are custom-made.

The boat has around 60 square meters and features an open kitchen (with dishwasher, fridge/freezer etc.), a large living area with a retractable double bed and a couch, a shower room, a separate toilet and the main bedroom with a comfortable double bed overlooking the water. There is a fireplace to keep the boat warm in winter and air-conditioning for hot summer nights. Two lovely ‘Bella Ciao’ bikes are also available for the guests to use. Just like the boat, they are hand-crafted, timeless classics.

The boat is available to rent and sleeps 2 adults plus 2 children.

Location ake Rummelsburg is a bay in the river Spree with the neighbouring districts of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Lichtenberg and Treptow. Right next to the dock is a small natural reserve that hundreds of ducks and many swans call their home.

In the vicinity there is a beautiful restaurant, ‘Die Hafenküche’, serving light lunches during the week and delicious breakfast on the weekend. They can also pack a picknick basket and take guests on a tour on one of their boats.

Another neighbour is ‘Spreeboote’, offering tailor-made tours of Berlin in one of their elegant vintage boats – definitely worth a trip!

The centre of Berlin is about 15 minutes away by public transport with a tram station about 100m from the harbour.
