The house is implanted in the terrain in a single plant, integrating itself into the local environment and whose development in the plot responds to the study of the orientations for an optimal use of the solar collection, as well as criteria of functionality and distribution of spaces, which generatesan harmonious relationship between interior and exterior. The necessary excavation for mentioned plant is relocated in an artificial topography formed by weathering Steel (cortenSteel) benches, so that the excavated soil is reused in the urbanization of the plot itself.
This modern luxury house has an outstanding avant-garde appearance thanks to the roundness of its geometric shapes and the materiality of its finishes, with textures and their effect of variation due to the solar incidence.
In order to solve the envelope, is used, a facade system of cross-laminated timber panels with internal self-supporting plasterboard wall liner, with a high energy performance system through thick insulation on the outside. The roof has a finish of topsoil, whose vegetation is made up of low maintenance upholstering plants that maximize the ecological benefits.
In regard to sustainability criteria, the project development is carried out according to ECODESIGN, betting on a design based on the basic principles of passive architecture, aimed at a building of “almost zero” energy consumption, by means of continuous thermal insulation of high performance in the envelope, elimination of thermal bridges, control of air infiltration, controlled ventilation with heat recovery, high performance carpentry, optimization of solar gains, indoor temperature and energy modeling.
Passive direct input systems are characterized by large values of glazed surface directedto the South, which has a cantilever that reduces the solar impact in the summer months.
In east and west orientations, outer slats are accurately set up to counteract the effects of the sun when necessary.
Plot enclosure/fence design isalso created in corten steel and a linked urbanization project where landscaping is understood as an extension of the architecture itself in perfect harmony with the building, At the same time complemented with a careful xero-gardening work, terraced areas and a luxury pool.
