This is an installation for the apparel line "NB Archive Remastered by AURALEE × TDS," a collaboration between the fashion brand "AURALEE" and the lifestyle brand "TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance" developed by New Balance.
Following the story of the collection, which was based on the design of archival pieces from New Balance archives, the installation was designed using ready-made fixtures (transport rollbox) as a starting point.
First, the floorboard was replaced with natural marble, and the frame was painted with a low-gloss finish to refine the rough impression while maintaining the presence of the rollbox. Then, pipes were added to the rollbox using metal fittings for plastic greenhouses.
A projector was installed in the center of the rollbox to illuminate the satin screen and show the campaign movie. In keeping with the brand's attitude of placing importance on materials and atmosphere, the projector avoided the use of glossy signage such as LCD, aiming for an appearance that blends physical and digital elements.
Since there are no power outlets in the area, a portable power supply weighing a total of 50 kg provides enough electricity to power the projector for one day. After closing, the portable power supply can be easily recharged by moving it with a rollbox to a location near the power outlets.
