achime bagel

Achime Bagel is a small bakery located in Munjeong-dong, Seoul, conceived around the idea of beginning the day well. The project started from a simple thought: freshly baked bagels, made with good ingredients and handed over in a small but pleasant space, could be enough to create a meaningful morning experience. Achime Bagel follows a daily production and same-day sales principle, and we wanted this straightforward and sincere attitude to naturally appear in the space. Donggyu Kim Donggyu Kim Donggyu Kim Donggyu Kim The open kitchen became the central scene of the project. Rather than hiding the production process, we exposed the early-morning preparation, baking, and movement of the staff. The activity of prepa... More

Andrews Bayview Village

Located in uptown Toronto, the Bayview Village Shopping Centre is an icon from the 1960s, a time that saw smaller community malls open in growing residential neighbourhoods across the city — many of which are now gone. In our present, a growing desire for meaningful retail experiences in tangible, local environments inspires our transformation of Andrews, a celebrated Canadian womenswear retailer with a 5,500-square-foot location inside the mall.   John Alunan While offering a large selection typical of a department store, the brand’s goal is to provide a customer experience that feels closer to that of a boutique. In service of this balance, we devised an arrangement of low-to-the-ground volumes that instill a sense... More

Onion Studio

Onion Studio is a clothing select shop that proposes a unique street look for the MZ generation. This store is located in a large shopping mall in Dongdaemun, the center of fashion in Korea, and it was designed in consideration of various special matters. Seeun Park Seeun Park The existing space had a difference in ceiling height. The glass wall at the front of the store, which runs from the window wall to the ceiling, gave a sense of separation from the inner space. We tried to functionally separate the existing space by harmonizing the segmented feeling, and we separated the sections of the staff zone and the display zone based on the difference in ceiling materials. Allen Tailoring Studio

Allen Tailoring is a retail studio space with an androgynous edge. Inspiration is drawn from the art of tailoring and the beauty of industrial machines, tools and equipment. There is a ‘lived in’ feel to the space that is not too precious; finishes that will patina and age over time are employed to give a richness and warmth to the interior. At a tiny 18sqm, Allen Tailoring is a bustling studio. The client previously occupied a space that was triple the size, but had no shopfront to catch passers-by; this made it challenging to draw in new clientele and grow the business. A decision was made to downsize and move into a space with a strong shopfront presence to showcase the services on offer and create a memorable experience for new and retur... More
