NERO – the 91m Classic Mega Yacht Nero is a yacht where the classical style of 1930s meet the technology of today and great luxury. the previous owner, Neil Taylor designed and built this boat and Turkish architect, designer Neptun Ozis participated the project as the interior fitout designer and manager. The 90 m. yacht with her classic design and 16,5 knot speed fascinates the viewers.
The striking feature about Nero is that the classical design of 1930s is combined with modern applications. Features of a modern yacht and more has been contained in Nero without spoiling the desing. The stabilizer with four fins and bowthrouster are among these modern details.
91 m. Nero is able to reach a speed of 17 knot with two 2333 bg MAK / Caterpillar engines. On 12,5 knot optimum speed, fuel consumption is 380 litres per hour. Balanced hull and 4 fin stabilizer provides a speed of 16 knot with minimum disturbance even in unfavorable weather conditions. This magnificent yacht is operated by a crew of 19; captain, first and second officer, 3 engineers, 5 deckhands, 2 chefs, 5 stewardesses and one laundryman.
In all exterior areas on Nero, teak has been used, for interior of 3 decks stained ashwood and for the boatdeck limed oak has been prefered. Italian marble “arabescato faniello” has been used in the bathrooms and custom design applications has been carried out in different workshops throughout China. For fireplace framework and bar tops another type of marble; Italian portoro is prefered.
NOT A MAIN CABIN, DUPLEX APARTMENT The most interesting point of the interior design is that, the owner can use his own apartment independent from other areas. Yes, apartment, it is even like a duplex because main living areas are located in the main deck and there is an observation lounge in the boat deck on the second floor . There is also a spacious office at the back of the observaiton lounge on this level.
The first floor of the cabin has his and her bathroom and a dressing room. There is also a private living room and dining room in the owner’s cabin.
The two guest cabins are located in the lower deck, one extends to the forward, the other to aft. In the guest cabin located at the forward there is a salon and study along with a big bathroom including a Jacuzzi, a separate bathroom and a head. The one extending to the aft has salon, study, his/her bathroom and a dressing room. On this deck there are also two twin cabins, one at the starboard one at the port side.
Considering the privacy of the guests, more than one dining, leisure and sun deck areas are designed and built. There is even a sun deck away from the security cameras on top of the bridge.
SERVICE BOATS ARE SPECIAL AS WELL Nero has incredible space for sunbathing and leisure on the decks. Main deck is mainly organised for leisure, big meetings and the huge teak table on the aft deck is ideal for big dinners and parties. The spacious main salon, library and dining room is again designed to entertain large group of people. The 5,7 m. swimming pool on the fordeck has a special current system that provides a real feeling of swimming.
There is a garage on the second level, boat deck, for the service boat and the marine toys. A 9,5 m. one cabin service boat designed by Turkish designer Tanju Kalaycıoğlu and produced in Turkey for Nero is placed in this area along with the two hard bottom ribs, one 8 m. and the other 5,2 m painted in accordance with the yachts’ colors. In addition to these, there are 5 jet-skis, 2 Seabobs (underwater scoters) among the garage residents.
At the aft deck, there is a leisure area with 3 sides open and a large dining space. This is the main sunbathing area and has comfortable chaise lounges and deck chairs. The jacuzzi here also provides a luxurious comfort.The snug is designed to escape the sun and lie down comfortably to read and the dining table provides another area for hungry guests.
