The challenge for the new Opella office was foundational: moving purposefully beyond its association with Sanofi. This project was conceived as a living narrative, a powerful statement of Opella's emerging vision. The design ambition was to visibly express a commitment to engineering wellness, blending the brand's new story with sustainability and future-focused functionality to create an environment that actively inspires focus and connection.

A Welcoming, Transparent Threshold

The first impression challenges the predictability of a typical reception. Instead of a passive waiting zone, the space integrates planter-integrated seating, immediately conveying sustainability and warmth. The arrival is framed by a striking stained green veneer grid, which anchors the desk as a bold brand marker. This is paired with a coffee counter, subtly infusing hospitality into the threshold. Semi-open shelving provides curated, layered glimpses into the workspace beyond, ensuring visual continuity and flow while preserving an intimate setting for guests in a private lounge.

Activation and Flow
The design revolves around creating a cohesive environment that reflects Opella's pharmaceutical roots and values. This is evident in the dynamic collaboration and breakout area at the core of the floorplate. Designed as an activated workspace, it combines ergonomic seating, AV-enabled setups, and phone rooms for privacy. The intentional use of jute and wooden textures, tropical wallpapers, and pops of Opella green creates a comfortable, stimulating environment that supports both impromptu collaboration and focused work. This composition, defined by sculptural lighting and local textures, forms a vibrant hub.

The open work zone itself fosters focus and interaction, enlivened with color accents, touches of biophilia, and abundant natural light. The distinct, curated color palette defining each meeting room is inspired by the pharma brands they represent, reinforcing Opella’s dynamic ethos.

The Heart of Community and Flexibility
The Workcafé is the undisputed heart of the floorplate, reimagined as an open and inclusive social anchor. Designed as a natural extension of the workplace, it offers varied settings and features bespoke furniture, which enhances flexibility for both social and work functions. Equipped with an AV wall and full conferencing capabilities, the Workcafé effortlessly transforms into a high-capacity venue for presentations or training.

We have woven natural materials and biophilic elements throughout, infusing the office with a sense of calm and connection. Every detail, from the vibrant color palettes to the purposeful use of light, reinforces a singular message: innovation and well-being are at the heart of everything that they do. This is more than a place to work; it's a holistic narrative, a testament to the commitment to people and the planet.
