Paseo Pereda

Mara Pardo Estudio as Architects
"A building with a glorious life. It has a romantic and family history that could be seen through its stained glass windows and paitings. That fabulous past contrasted with a renovation  done in the seventies.  This magnificent house is located in the middle of Santander’s downtown, facing the emblematic Botin’s Center.
Despite its appearance, as we entered through the main door, we felt the crush of love at first sight. We were determined to recover the glorious past of the frescoes and interior mouldings. Our main goal was to recreate its traditional style spirit. The building is magic!!! While living there for a long period, the Spanish writer Jose Maria Pereda was inspired to write his most famous poem “Sotileza”
