The world's population has been growing very rapidly at a startling rate. According to a new report by the Population Reference Bureau (PRB), the world's population could swell to 9.9 billion by 2050.
On the other hand due to climate change, recently there has been a huge increase at natural disasters such as tsunami, flood, so we are losing lands. In the future we need floating cities.
Reshuman is a mobile, floating city concept that includes all kinds of elements belonging to a city (such as hospital, school, market, research center etc.) with its self-sufficient, sustainable design.
The whole energy required by the city is being produced within the city's itself, by using wind, solar and ocean current energies. The fixed units are covered with solar panels. The daily energy needed is completely met by these solar panels.
The need for water in the city is met by refining the water collected in rain-water storage units and by distributing it to the units. In addition to the rain water, the waste ater used in the units are saved, refined and reused after being stored at the storages. For the purpose of meeting the city's demand, organic agriculture is considered to be applied. Water is a need for the organic agriculture fields; therefore this need is met through refining the waste water. Moreover, fish ponds are considered to meet the city's fish demand. In the middle of the city, a port and airfields for choppers
are planned. These vehicles provide transportation to the residents.
There is a control and command center for emergencies in case of disaster occasions that might occur neighboring cities. Transportation by sea or air will be able to provide a more efficient and faster interference than by land; and therefore sea-ambulance, fire-boats, rescue boats and
rescue helicopters are on stand-by. Besides, in order to be used in emergencies, there are food, medicine and supplies that might be stored for long years in the
storages. Mobile sections are ready for emergency and
rescue situations.
