On Smallegade in Frederiksberg, a three-storey townhouse situated within a characteristic and atmospheric courtyard has undergone a comprehensive renovation and transformation.
The renovation focused on preserving the character and qualities of the existing building while adapting it to contemporary standards of comfort, functionality, and everyday living. The property has been carefully reconfigured and upgraded throughout, resulting in a modern and cohesive townhouse with a timeless architectural expression.
A key part of the transformation was to improve the relationship between the interior spaces and the outdoors. A new rooftop terrace and a first-floor balcony were introduced, creating valuable private outdoor areas in the middle of the city while also improving daylight conditions within the home. Together with the renewed interior layout and architectural detailing, these additions contribute to a brighter, more open, and functional living environment.
The project demonstrates how an existing urban property can be thoughtfully renovated and given new life through a combination of careful transformation, improved spatial qualities, and contemporary architectural interventions.
