Concept

Set along the waterfront in Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah, Soto Grande is shaped by a direct response to its coastal setting and the views that surround it. Two residential towers are separated, shifted, and rotated to open the development toward the Persian Gulf, lagoon, golf course, and surrounding landscape, while reducing the perception of a continuous mass along the seafront.

The cores are positioned toward the rear, preserving the openness of the sea-facing facades, while a central bridge connects the two buildings and extends toward the water as the project’s defining architectural gesture. Together, the orientation of the towers and the horizontal presence of the bridge establish a composition that is both connected internally and distinctly oriented toward the sea.

At ground and podium levels, this idea of connection develops through landscape and movement. The arrival sequence begins within greenery and water before gradually transitioning into the lobby, where views toward the Japanese garden immediately draw the landscape into the resident experience.

Beyond, a series of layered courtyards, gardens, pools, and shared amenities step across the podium, creating different degrees of activity, privacy, and social interaction. Rather than treating circulation, landscape, and amenities as separate elements, they overlap to form a continuous journey through the development. The gym overlooks the Japanese garden, while the children’s pool and play area are positioned together to support everyday use and visibility between spaces, allowing communal life to unfold naturally across the landscape.

Within the residences, sweeping balconies extend the living spaces outward and maintain the project’s relationship with its wider setting, bringing the sea, lagoon, and landscape into everyday experience.

The interior journey remains closely connected to the architectural logic of the project, moving from arrival and shared spaces toward increasingly private environments without losing contact with the landscape beyond. Soto Grande is shaped as a coastal community where architecture orients toward the sea, layered landscape becomes shared ground, and everyday life unfolds through a connected sequence from arrival to home.
