Oikos Tsebelis as INTERIOR DESIGN

Frantseska Tsebeli, was born in 1978 and she is Greek-Italian. She studied interior design at the Art Institute of Sicily, Italy and European Interior Design in Rome. She has also completed a 4-year course as master carpenter. She speaks Greek, Italian and English.

While the majority of the buildings she has designed are in Greece, Frantseska is particularly known to collect influences from traveling around the globe and putting them together inside her works. In the last decade, she has extensively traveled to Asia, Europe and Africa, reading and absorbing architecture firsthand.

Frantseska collaborates with her father, Nikos Tsebelis, who is a professional architect since 1972. Nikos Tsebelis has been her mentor and trainer for many years teaching her the administrative aspects of any construction project (town planning laws & regulations, budgeting, preparation of documents for building permits, etc) as well as how to supervise the entire construction project.

Frantseska achieved an early public recognition for the design and construction of her own house in Pyrgos, Santorini. Gradually her work became more mature and resulting in the creation of outstanding public buildings like hotels, coffee shops and fashion stores. Frantseska is particularly known for the use of reinforced concrete in her designs and the combination of traditional and modern forms. In addition, she is widely recognized for her synthetic talent and the blending of Greek architectural styles with her Asian and Arabian influences, as well as her exquisite coloring sensibility. Her works have the contrast of simple masses and planes with the play of light and natural elements, emphasizing tradition, functionality, strength and beauty.
