The project for Taipo Pratas was much more than just creating a retail space; developing it was a challenge of investigation and translation of the essence of a brand that, until then, had been rooted in the digital world (e-commerce) into a store. Understanding Taipo's story and purposes was crucial to developing the project. A true immersion into the roots of its identity was essential to create an authentic and welcoming experience.
In addition to the challenge of translating the brand’s digital essence into architecture, another major challenge was the short timeframe for project development and construction delivery. We had 90 days to ensure everything was ready and operational for the new space's inauguration.
With the main premises defined, we began developing the space, which had to be both timeless and welcoming. The project's guiding color palette included sandy tones and pink hues, complemented by the prominent presence of wood and abundant greenery, particularly the monstera plants that are an important part of Taipo's branding.
Capturing and expressing Taipo's essence, harmonizing indispensable elements, and meeting the tight deadline required sourcing materials and construction techniques suitable for the project’s rapid timeline. Additionally, we needed to properly convey the message the space was meant to communicate, driving us to seek innovative and creative solutions to address these challenges.
Incorporating natural elements and organic designs formed the foundation of the concept, aiming to create a light, dynamic space that also conveyed authenticity in every detail. This approach allowed us to explore new possibilities and create an environment brimming with personality and warmth.
The ceiling and upper portions of the walls were clad in wood tones, adding the necessary coziness to the space, while curves were introduced to soften the double-height ceiling. At the rear, a large pink polished concrete block frames the white textured wall, separating the customer area from the administrative sector and creating a sense of fluidity and permeability.
The layout was designed to optimize and facilitate circulation, providing users with an engaging and welcoming experience. We created a large central piece of furniture with an organic design that guides and organizes internal circulation around it. To its right, there is a lighter space with an arched piece of furniture displaying some products, along with the jewelry fitting area and a small lounge. To its left is a second display unit and the service tables.
Beyond the careful design of the furniture and the choice of elements that shape the jewelry exhibition space, the lighting design is another standout feature, aiming for both efficiency and elegance. In the double-height ceiling, only the general store lighting fixtures were placed, while at a lower level, profiles for targeted lighting ensure easy adaptability to the different needs of the space, which may vary depending on the occasion or the selection of products requiring emphasis.
Taipo Pratas has become much more than just a retail space; today, it is the physical representation of an idea. An idea that was born at the artisan fairs of Jacareí, grew in the digital world, and now has its own temple—a place where authenticity and comfort reside. Here, Brazilian contemporary architecture meets the essence of a brand, creating a space that invites and inspires customers to explore and discover the soul of Taipo.
