The Link will stand at a height of 244 meters once completed in 2022, featuring a record-breaking 126,000 sqm of office space. Located right in the heart of the La Défense business district, The Link will act as a new landmark on the axe historique extending from the Louvre, the Champs-Élysées, and the Arc de Triomphe. The ambitious, next-generation tower is emblematic of the transformation of working practices and a new relation to the city.
PCA-STREAM has imagined an optimal shape for this innovative tower, capitalizing on the exceptionally large parcel of land by splitting the high-rise building in two distinct wings that are interconnected by thirty platforms—the “links.” The 3,000 sqm stories can be paired up and form 6 000 sqm duplexes that can accommodate up to 500 staff.
Thanks to these walk-up units, most trips taken in a typical workday will be made on foot. these bright, open spaces address new work patterns, in line with the aspirations of Total’s employees. Workplace utilization patterns are streamlined and the horizontal circulations provide opportunities for information sharing and social interactions, thus improving both the performance and the well-being of the building’s users. the interactions occurring in the links foster collective intelligence and creativity. Each link will include terraces and hanging gardens boasting spectacular views that will count among the very best in Paris. They are designed as spaces for collective work and as places for social interaction. Each link becomes a new “village square,” offering an unprecedented place for nature within a high-rise building. An exemplary green building, the Link’s 4,800 sqm solar façade meets 25% of its lightening needs.
