The renovation of this 1930s Veluwe farmhouse focuses on restoring the original structure while creating a light-filled, contemporary living environment. In the former stable, several historic roof trusses that had been removed over the years were carefully reintroduced, strengthening the spatial experience and preserving the constructive logic of the building.
The stable has been opened up into a generous living kitchen, with new façade openings and steel window frames that draw daylight deep into the interior. A thatched extension adds additional living space while connecting seamlessly to the traditional vocabulary of the farmstead.
Through the use of natural materials, tactile finishes, and clear sightlines, the result is a farmhouse residence where history, tranquillity, and contemporary living quality come together.
