Westgate and Westgate Tower

RSP as Architect and Civil & Structural Engineer

Located at Boon Lay Way, Westgate and Westgate Tower is CapitaLand’s premier retail and commercial development in the Jurong Lake District. The development features a street-based retail component, with 7 levels of retail podium and a 20-storey office tower. The retail mall is distinct with intersecting the retail zone that will be the new attractor for a unique retail experience in the area.

The Westgate shopping mall is combined with Westgate Tower office block in a dynamic mixed use development that integrates seamlessly with transport links and the surroundings via many street accesses and sky bridges. The retail podium features roof gardens with al-fresco terrace dining, child care center and children’s play area. These facilities augment the leisure palette that the retail mall offers. The development has basements providing retail as well as ample car parking.

The office is an elegant 20-storey tall tower. It is accessed by Boon Lay Way and visitors are greeted by a triple-volume lobby with lush landscape on the second-storey main lobby. The office tower is designed with a roof top garden and restaurant located at the crown of the tower and it serves as a viewing gallery for the entire Jurong Lake District.

Using a combination of strategies based on sound passive and active design principles, together with careful resource management and the adoption of ‘sustainable urbanism’, Westgate pioneers a new kind of retail typology that embraces Singapore’s tropical climate.
