Sway

Inspired by the swaying grasses of Naoshima Island, Sway is a poetic lighting piece that gently responds to the air around it.  Drawing from the layered aesthetics of traditional Japanese lanterns and the translucency of washi paper, Anne-Lise and Søren developed a new robotic weaving technique—merging craft and code to create the subtle overlapping of patterns in a new material language. The result is a lamp that not only emits a soft, diffuse glow, but also embodies lightness and motion—suspended on a slender pole, anchored in a sculptural stone base that references natural terrains like riverbeds and dunes. Sway invites stillness, observation, and quiet interaction evoked by only the slightest breeze.
