The X-lam panel, also called CLT panel – Cross Laminated Timber, is a large wooden panel with a thickness ranging from 60 to 300 mm. The X-lam panel has a specific structure: in fact, it is composed of fir wood lamellas classified C24 and dried at 12%+/- 2, and glued in cross layers perpendicularly to each other. The code C24 indicates the structural resistance class of the raw material. The crossing of wooden lamellas enables the panel to acquire excellent mechanical features and homogenous geometric and structural stability.
Thanks to these characteristics, it is suitable for building purposes in the construction of load-bearing walls, floors, and sloping roofs, and for earthquake-resistant buildings. Furthermore, since it is almost exclusively made of wood, the X-lam panel is perfect for use in the green building sector.
