Located in Martina Franca, this renovation project was designed to consolidate the structure of the building but also to make the flat more spacious and modern. 

Designed by ABBW architect Angelo Bruno, the style adopted is very much characterised by comfortable and cosy furnishing elements. The look of the rooms is defined by the white walls and the geometry of the coverings, which favours neutral tones. 

The first significant change was the division between the living area, where there is a kitchen, a bathroom, a laundry, a living room and a storage room, and the sleeping area, consisting of a single bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom. The utility room overlooking the living room has been concealed with the help of a frameless swing door covered with wallpaper. The use of this type of covering offers the possibility to create an opening without interrupting the chosen pattern. With the flush-to-wall systems, that eliminate the jambs and casings around the door, a discreet opening was successfully built making the space even more dynamic and functional.

For the designer, after the pavements, it is the door that defines the interior’s design guidelines. This decision must be based on the role that the door must play at a functional level and therefore each door, whether hinged or sliding, must be used according to the characteristics of the environment in which it is inserted. 

The high level of customisation of Ermetika systems makes possible to apply wallpaper or regular paint on the door panel, to match the masonry. This is the reason why the Absolute Swing hinged door more and more appreciated in interior design projects.
