The project is located in the Hof Savelkoul neighborhood, in Mortsel. It concerns the change of function and rearrangement of the ground floor of a ground floor apartment. The interior was designed as a whole with the architectural interventions.
Jewelry designer Danielle Boeur of Atelier Ferm wanted a home studio. This was integrated on the ground floor of the home. The design assumes a neutral framework by keeping structural elements in view, and dressing them with plantings.
The jewelry itself, and the artisanal tools help shape the character of the space. Warm & cold materials (concrete ceiling / masonry walls / wooden furniture) alternate and create an oasis of calm in the studio. An inspiring new workspace.
