Casa Elledi was built in the early twentieth century as a noble summer house and divided over time into several properties, undergoing numerous transformations. The house has now been reunited, renovated and reorganized internally to restore the readability of the housing unit and give it new organicity. The primary task was to maintain the identity of the house, restoring it where defaced, with cutting-edge construction solutions.

The study of new and existing materials was added to the seismic and structural consolidation of masonry walls and vaulted ceilings, to the total reconstruction of the pitched roof. The finish of the walls changes in relation to the use of the environment, shaping it to create a different atmosphere for each room: the ethereal grassello of lime for the living spaces, limestone slabs for the bathroom, paper and fabric paintings for the most intimate and reserved spaces.

In order to respect the identity of the places and functionality, a plant system has been designed consisting of a hydronic radiant system for the modern wing associated with a fan coil system for the oldest area, powered by the latest generation solar and photovoltaic panels for a zero impact building.

This also affected the lighting design. Here, directional and dimmable LEDs transform an entrance into an art gallery, a chaotic kitchen in an intimate space, a bathroom in a spa. Flexibility of atmospheres and spaces highlight both the environment and the furnishing accessory, the man and his life in the villa. Architectural peculiarity is the presence, on the west front, of a view with mullioned window originally closed by a wooden window.

To bright out the architectural element, a fixed slim window was designed and built, framing the sunsets that open between the columns to be enjoyed from your sofa like a passe-partout.
