A family home transformed into a sanctuary—a house for living.

The project is based on a 1960s house, evolving into a home for contemporary life, a calm space for relaxation and enjoyment. The process began by clearing the pre-existing architectural program, eliminating unused spaces (a storage room, an intermediate room, and the entrance porch). Two interior courtyards were created to improve natural lighting and ventilation throughout the house.

The master bedroom was expanded to accommodate a home-office space. To the north, a terrace was designed to serve as a transition between interior and exterior spaces, integrating the living-dining area and the master bedroom with the pool and gardens. A mixed-structure roof was added to the terrace to cover the space and provide semi-shaded surfaces over the pool. Planters (vegetation containments) were also added to the exterior areas.

Regarding the architectural program, a new bathroom was created for guests and visitors. Additionally, a new volume was added along the street front to house the garage, laundry area, and storage rooms. An access sequence was established, consisting of an exterior and an interior foyer interconnected by a dry courtyard. The material palette is sober, contrasting stone elements with neutral-toned textures.
