Chubb México: A New Model of Workplace Culture
Chubb is one of the largest insurance companies in the world. Driven by ongoing growth and an evolving business, the company decided to open a new services unit in Mexico City dedicated primarily to in-person claims assistance. To bring the project to life, Chubb entrusted Contract Workplaces with the turnkey design and construction of its new headquarters.

With this new office, Chubb set out to shift its working dynamic and organizational culture — moving from a compartmentalized layout with assigned desks toward an open, flexible, and collaborative environment with no fixed workstations, compatible with a hybrid model. The challenge was to integrate these new ways of working with an efficient client-service area.

The project spans 1,450 square meters across two floors of the Park Insurgentes 1082 building, a first-class corporate complex located in one of Mexico City's best-connected and most prestigious business districts. Construction was completed on a 115-day turnkey schedule.
Full-height glazing runs the length of the operational floor, framing views of the city.
The layout is organized around a circulation axis that runs through the entire floor, connecting the different areas. At the point where this axis breaks, the heart of the project appears: the reception area. Located on the fourth floor, it is an intersection point that welcomes both visitors and employees and functions as a transition space, housing the client-service area, a waiting zone, and meeting rooms.

The rest of the floor houses the operational team in an open-plan configuration. To take advantage of exterior views and natural light, bench-style desks were placed along the façade, while support areas were located toward the interior. The project also includes alternative spaces such as a lactation room, a nursing station, and a vending area.

With the office user in mind, the design focused on expanding the number of people who can successfully interact with the space — both clients and employees. Accessibility and inclusion criteria were incorporated to guarantee comfortable, functional spaces for everyone, regardless of physical condition, including accessible restrooms, specially designed furniture, height-adjustable sit-to-stand workstations, and generous circulation areas.

Small huddle rooms and larger conference spaces alternate throughout the floor, each finished with a distinct material and color language so employees can navigate the office intuitively.
Ideas take shape on a mobile whiteboard in one of the collaborative work settings.
The color palette subtly integrates Chubb's institutional colors, combining a predominantly neutral base of whites and grays with matte-blue accents and light woods, lending the space sobriety and elegance.
A wood-paneled ceiling and ring pendant lighting define the main conference room.
Making Mexican cultural identity visible within a global company like Chubb was a key priority. The strategy translated into colorful imagery referencing the geometry of ceramics, textiles, azulejo tiles, and modern Mexican muralists. To reinforce a sense of belonging, each meeting room was named after an emblematic place in the country — Guadalajara room, Cerro de la Silla room, and others.

The result is a space that combines flexibility, functionality, and cultural identity. Elements inspired by Mexican culture bring a strong sense of belonging, while the layout favors the collaboration and adaptability that the new world of work demands.
