Squadforce Tech Limited is a Canadian-based technology company dedicated to optimizing and enhancing contact center and customer service operations through artificial intelligence tools. To establish its presence in Costa Rica, the company required a collaborative headquarters featuring multifunctional spaces and an aesthetic that clearly reflected the local environment, thereby distinguishing it from its offices in other countries.
The project—executed entirely by Contract Workplaces—was developed within a 489 m² space at the Escazú Village mixed-use complex. The building is notable for having achieved LEED Gold certification in the "Core and Shell" category, a distinction that validates its efficient and sustainable design.
The proposal, developed from the client's initial premise, was based on a visual journey through the country's most iconic landscapes. This approach allowed Costa Rica's geographic and cultural identity to be translated into concrete design criteria—color palette, materials, lighting, and surface treatments—creating a spatial narrative that connects functional areas with their corresponding ecosystems.
The layout balances daily operations with opportunities for social interaction and well-being. The open-plan operational area supports hybrid work, open collaboration, and moments of focused privacy, reflecting a brand identity that is approachable and human-centric. Meanwhile, a central multifunctional space—serving as both a dining area and a town hall—hosts informal meetings and team events, optimizing space without duplicating functions. Its flexibility, enhanced by technology such as an integrated ceiling microphone system, allows it to accommodate both daily routines and collective gatherings, creating a memorable experience that aligns with the project's overarching concept.
Several wellness-oriented amenities were also incorporated, such as a lounge, a nursing room, and huddle rooms.
Graphic design plays a prominent role, featuring diverse styles, textures, and color palettes. The concept stemmed from a desire to reflect a distinct Costa Rican ecosystem in each space: the reception area evokes the tropical rainforest aesthetic; the open-plan area reflects the Guanacaste savanna, dominated by earth tones; and the innovation room mirrors the volcanic landscape. In this way, each area captures the energy of the activities taking place within it.
The result is a functional, dynamic space that not only supports the company’s operations and employee well-being but also conveys the brand’s identity—rooted in local character—to the rest of the world.
