YPF Luz: A New Identity, A New Workplace

YPF Luz is a company within the YPF group dedicated to the generation and development of efficient and sustainable energy solutions for the Argentine market. As part of its growth in the renewable resources sector, the company needed a new corporate headquarters aligned with its vision of the future, sustainability, and technological innovation, and entrusted Contract Workplaces with the comprehensive development of this project.

The new offices were developed on a 2,240 m² floor of the building located at Juana Manso 1069, in the emblematic Buenos Aires neighborhood of Puerto Madero. The location offers a modern corporate urban setting, with extensive glazed façades that ensure optimal use of natural light and excellent views of the dock. In addition, the available floor area can comfortably accommodate both the current workforce and the workforce projected for the future.

The primary objective was to define and express a distinct identity for YPF Luz outside the YPF tower, its previous location. The design proposal sought to visually convey the company’s values by creating a dynamic, efficient, and highly flexible environment. The design decisions also provided for a layout that could be easily reorganized to accommodate potential staff growth and support the gradual transition from a hybrid work model to full on-site attendance.

The layout creates a dynamic environment that encourages spontaneous collaboration and supports the company’s different work dynamics and workflows. To this end, workstations were arranged in an open space along the glazed perimeter of the façades, prioritizing natural light and exterior views, while the main circulation routes were organized in the central area of the floor. Integrated collaborative areas furnished with comfortable, informal furniture were interspersed near the workstations, serving as meeting points for working in a more relaxed manner, having casual conversations, or taking short breaks.

The space also features a variety of enclosed meeting rooms, phone booths, and meeting rooms that provide alternatives for different ways of working and levels of privacy. In addition, a nursing room and a technical monitoring center specially equipped to operate continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, were included.

However, the true heart of the project is the Coffee Work. Designed as a versatile and inclusive environment, this space serves as a multifunctional gathering point for informal meetings, collaborative tasks, events, and team celebrations. During the inauguration, a tree was symbolically planted in this area as a gesture of renewal and corporate growth.

The visual identity and selection of materials subtly reflect the essence of a company associated with renewable energy. The color palette combines shades of blue, green, and gray with light woods, creating a fresh, natural atmosphere that differs from YPF’s traditional aesthetic. In the dining area and stepped seating area, a suspended ceiling with acoustic treatment was installed, its design reproducing the corporate graphics and becoming a three-dimensional branding feature. High-performance panels were also incorporated to ensure a high level of acoustic comfort in the expansive open space.
