As part of an international hairdressing chain’s rebranding to “C&SH,” MT.A’s design influenced both the visual and conceptual identity of the brand. A material palette of oak, metal, tile, and exposed brick merges authenticity with sophistication. This understated yet luxurious selection aligns with the brand's new identity, bringing warmth and a premium, welcoming atmosphere. Custom furniture enhances the functionality of the space: shelving units vary in height to showcase products to passersby, while hairdresser cabinets incorporate hidden wiring for future scalability.
Special touches include a custom black bag chair from Minsk, quirky and contemporary, as well as bag stands made from 500-year-old German oak. Burnt German oak appears again in the shelving near the sinks, echoing the material choices throughout the design. Glazed terracotta tiles and reinforced glass are used as design accents across cabinets, lamps, and counters. Portuguese white marble with intentionally rugged edges adds a subtle, natural elegance, capturing the brand’s embrace of raw beauty.
A dark grey ceiling, initially a point of client uncertainty, has since become a defining element of the brand, symbolising the space’s balance of warmth and urban sophistication. Additionally, the salon supports local artists by hosting rotating exhibitions, integrating art into its core identity and marketing.
MT.A’s attention to Lisbon’s architectural heritage, local materials, and cultural context has crafted a space that feels organically tied to its location. Visitors describe the experience as effortlessly harmonious—“When you step inside, it feels just right. You don’t want to leave.”
