Edelman is a global communications agency that helps companies and organizations build, promote, and protect their brands and reputations. After twenty-seven years in Argentina, the company experienced significant growth, which led to the relocation of its operations from its traditional office in downtown Buenos Aires—characterized by enclosed rooms and a lack of collaborative spaces—to a next-generation environment: a creative, sustainable, open, and flexible space that better represents the agency’s current identity.
Seeking a more dynamic location aligned with its evolution, the company chose a building in Palermo Hollywood, a youthful and cutting-edge area of the city known for its diverse gastronomic, touristic, and cultural offerings, as well as a high concentration of audiovisual media companies.
The project, entirely carried out by Contract Workplaces, covered a 344 m² surface and focused on creating a space aligned with current trends that prioritize flexibility and meeting areas through various work typologies. It also aimed to integrate with the surrounding environment by incorporating elements of the urban fabric such as street art, textures, and a design that evokes the informal atmosphere of the local commercial spaces.
The building’s unique corner layout features a continuous glazed façade on both sides, with a carefully studied technological design. While the party walls were used to place enclosed spaces (various meeting rooms and a coffee area), the central space was designated for collaborative work areas configured in an open plan. This area was divided into two zones: one for formal work and, virtually separated by a bar, the work coffee area. Highly versatile, this zone emulates a typical neighborhood café and includes a flexible partition, allowing it to function as a café, workspace, or training room depending on the moment’s needs.
As for material choices, wood and a palette of earthy or neutral tones were prioritized, with color accents in upholstery and furniture, creating a homey and relaxed style. In the open space and meeting rooms, modular carpet in shades of gray was used, while the collaborative areas feature a herringbone-patterned vinyl floor mimicking the traditional parquet of local homes.
Since the staff operates under a hybrid work model, there are no assigned desks, and the workstations consist of bench-style desks without drawers or dividers. A distinctive feature is the incorporation of urban art at the entrance and in the restrooms, created in collaboration with artist Sanfe, who expressed the company’s values in his work.
Another notable aspect is the inclusion of accessibility elements such as wide doors for wheelchair access, a bathroom for people with disabilities, and signage in braille. Additionally, a suspended ceiling was installed to improve the acoustic quality of the open space.
The result is a workspace that fosters creativity and teamwork, equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance human connection, multiple meeting rooms, and social and collaborative areas—consolidating a renewed spatial identity for Edelman in Argentina.
