A walk among the clouds: Federico Giner’s new Headquarters by Clap Studio

Federico Giner is a brand that has become part of the collective memory of several generations. Its desks and chairs have accompanied the education of thousands of Spaniards, becoming a reference in school furniture. With the design of its new headquarters, created by Clap Studio in Tavernes de la Valldigna, Spain, the brand returns to its roots in a space designed to find balance between work and rest—an environment conceived to foster concentration in a calm and serene atmosphere.

The space has been conceptualized as an immersive walk among the clouds, that moment when, after a long journey, one begins to pass through them and becomes enveloped in their atmosphere. This concept materializes on the main floor, where the offices and showroom are located, creating a welcoming and peaceful environment. To represent the clouds, Clap Studio designed a metal mesh structure that segments the space and organizes the departments without fully enclosing them.

Although the client sought an open space, interviews with the team revealed the need for subtle divisions that maintained visual connection and spaciousness without compromising functionality. Therefore, the four departments—commercial, production, technical office, and management—were organized to encourage communication between areas while allowing for concentration.

The experience of the journey begins upon entering a space where the clouds subtly segment each department. Visitors pass through these ethereal forms, following a logical path through the different areas of the company until they reach the showroom and the dynamic workspace, where the identity of Federico Giner becomes tangible.

The corporate green color defines the building’s structure and takes prominence on the upper floor, balancing with the white of the metal mesh that represents the clouds and the beige tones of the curtains and walls, which bring warmth. As one ascends, the green intensifies in a space designed for rest and socialization, with a kitchen, bar area, and terrace that foster team connection.
